On February 19th 2015, Janina Vasquez was found deceased after missing for 7 days. A lot of things don't add up in this case so I'm going to do my best to highlight all the important parts and see what everyone else thinks. Also my first write up for this sub! Anywho..
Vasquez lived with her mother and stepfather in Overland Park, Kansas. A suburb of Kansas City. She was 27 years old but suffered from what is described as a "seizure disorder" and also had chronic pains from a previous traffic accident.
On February 11th, 2015 she texted her mother saying she was going out with friends "Allen and Nicole" and that she would be gone for the night and come back tomorrow. The mother didn't know these people, however since Janina hardly left the house, she thought it was good for her to get out and have some fun. That's the last time she spoke with her daughter
When Janina didn't return the next day, the mother contacted police and they said that her cell phone had pinged that night near an intersection in downtown KCMO (Kansas City, Missouri), an area that she did not frequent
Later that night surveillance footage shows Janina leaving the Isle Of Capri casino at 7:40pm, a mile and a half from where her cell pinged at. She is by herself, however she gets into a red car of an unknown person
That’s the last anyone saw of her until February 19th, when she is found at the bottom of a 25 foot well in an enclosed part of a park within a mile of the casino. She was found with severe trauma to the back of her head and both wrists were broken (very likely from a fall) however she had no bra, underwear, or socks, a bag she was seen with is missing and her jacket top was tied around her waist, all of which being very odd for it being winter and snow on the ground.
Here is where it all gets strange. The death is ruled accidentalhere is a picture of the well she was found in. It’s very hard to imagine a woman who suffered from chronic body pains/seizures to the point of being unable to live alone could hop a fence of that size and lift such a heavy gate to get into the well.
The red car she was seen getting into was also spotted by a nearby camera in. the. park. around 3 hours after Janina was seen getting into the car from the casino.
Months later it is revealed that Janina made a 911 call the night of February 12th, but the call was constantly dropping out and the police couldn’t make out what she was saying, they could only tell it was coming from the area of a local park. They went and checked and found nothing and left.
Here are two photos taken from the casino onetwo Here is a map of the area to see where the casino and park are in relation to eachother

Does anyone have any history on Kansas City Casinos? Or a way to find the information?
I have only been to a casino once, but I was looking at Google maps and noticed the moat around the isle of Capri casino, was that an aesthetic choice or was it a way around the law when it was built? I'm curious as to how the laws went for them as well as the various ages of the buildings themselves. Thanks!

Check out my weekly KC estate & consignment auctions - something new/fun to do in the metro on a Thursday night.
Hey guys. I host a weekly Kansas City estate & consignment auction in the east bottoms - just east of city market kind of near Isle of Capri Casino, right down the street from Local Pig. 1801 Guinotte KCMO 64120. I'm hoping there may be some interest generated here (I've mentioned it in a few comments in the past), and maybe you could help me spread the word. We're definitely a small, local business, and work our asses off every week getting this thing set up. I think our efforts genuinely make our city a more interesting place. Here's the skinny: almost every Thursday evening the doors open at 5:00 pm for preview and I start selling at 6:00 (I'm the auctioneer, too) the auction is usually over between 10-11. Furniture, antiques, collectibles, art, artifacts, oddities, local history, retro/vintage, and on and on. I usually sell around 400 "lots" a night. It's definitely something new to do in KC, and quite entertaining. It's fun to see what sells for big bucks, what doesn't, and it's probably some of the best people watching you're gonna find in the metro. Not to mention the fact there are some GREAT deals on stuff to be had. If you've never been to an auction before, don't be intimidated by the bidding process - you'll catch on quick. You don't even have to bid. There's food every week, and some people have been know to bring in their own beer . . . Anyway, check out the website - www.atakc.com. Preview photos and video are posted every week (the stuff we're selling tonight is on there now), and you can get on our email notification list, too. Thanks. If you make it down sometime as a result of this post, please introduce yourself and let me know!
